Time to update your Leica SL

Leica Camera has released a new firmware update for the Leica SL camera.

Registered camera users can now log in to the Leica owners’ area and download the firmware version 3.0 from this link.

Or for the personal touch, a complementary firmware update service is offered at Leica Store Sydney and Leica Boutiques, where owners can also receive answers to any questions they may have. 

The update includes signficant changes, including:

Up to 35% faster writing DNG files to SD card • Optimization of the writing process allows to reduce the time needed for saving DNG files up to
35%.

The 2017 Munich High-End Show

The big story at the this year’s Munich show was the rapidly increasing number of manufacturers incorporating MQA decoding in their products. Perhaps even more significant for the format, however, was Sony Music’s statement that it intends to release titles from its vast catalog in MQA. In addition to Sony’s statement at Munich, Merlin, a global-rights agency for independent record labels, announced a long-term agreement to encode their master recordings in MQA. Summer has arrived. I gave my final lecture and final exams, turned in all my grades, and attended graduation to send off another crop of audio/media engineers a couple of weeks ago. The class of 2017 was among my favorites and it was great receive a round of applause following the senior crit. I’m quite sure not everyone appreciates the demands I place on them but those that accept and overcome the challenges will undoubtedly find careers in the field. Wharfedale Diamond 11 at Munich High End 2017

Wharfedale announced its Diamond 11 Series at Munich High End 2017, the same year the company celebrates its 85th birthday. The long-established Diamond range has been dramatically changed by the use of long-throw Kevlar drivers in lightweight foam surrounds, vented pole-piece tweeters and sandwich construction cabinets that have continued the curved cabinet side look of the Diamond 10 that disappeared on the Diamond 100.
