InnerFidelity Holiday Gift Guide

By | December 5th, 2018|Categories: Innerfidelity|

I wandered the downtown Vancouver streets, slightly dazed as it was early, the coffee in my hand only half-finished and thus not fully waking my mind to operating temperature. Commuter traffic and day-job types jostled me like a potted plant to get around in their rush past me to get to jobs, friends, lovers, shops, or the somewhere important place in their lives they needed to be at the moment.

It was, after all, the beginning of December and things like holiday gift shopping for our families and friends was starting to dawn more brightly every morning into the waking brains of the urban populace (who surround my small oasis of a home in the city) as the month creeps forward inexorably to it’s zenith on the 25th and the all the expectations which surround that date.… Read the full article

TAS Legacy: Vandersteen Audio Model 2 Loudspeaker

Although Richard Vandersteen has gone on to design far more sophisticated, expensive, and ultimately “better”-sounding loudspeakers, the original Model 2 remains the inspiration and essential research project for all that’s followed over the past four-plus decades. Upon release in 1977 the Model 2 sold for $890 the pair and featured several innovative design elements that are fundamental to every subsequent speaker that Richard Vandersteen designed. First and most obviously was Vandersteen’s discovery that by minimizing the size and curving the edges of the baffle, he was able to virtually eliminate cabinet edge and grille diffraction issues to obtain a far …… Read the full article

Cambridge Audio Edge A Integrated Amplifier Review

By | December 5th, 2018|Categories: Sound + Vision|

Performance
Features
Ergonomics
Value

PRICE $5,000

AT A GLANCE

Plus

Top-shelf sound reproduction
Enough power to handle nearly all loudspeakers
Price-no-object manufacturing and finish

Minus

Challenging input-identification ergonomics
No phono input

THE VERDICT

Cambridge Audio’s commemorative Edge A combines top-shelf sound with gorgeous industrial design. The price may be a cut above average, but the Edge A is no average integrated amp.

Do you really need a $5,000, 54-pound, two-channel integrated amplifier? Yes, of course you do. Especially if that integrated amplifier is the new Edge A from Cambridge Audio, a British firm with a long record of seriousness about sound reproduction.

These cheap Sonos One deals are likely to be the best prices before Christmas

By | December 5th, 2018|Categories: TechRadar|

Update: stock is somehow still available once again at this super low price. It had a bit of a wobble at the weekend, but it seems all options are back on the table for these mega cheap Sonos One deals.

The Sonos One smart speaker has become one of the most popular speakers over the last 12 months and demand stepped up a notch recently as the stylish soundbox has made its way on to plenty of Christmas wishlists.

Which is why we're super stoked to see this late discount arrive to knock a decent amount from the RRP.… Read the full article

“Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that you’ve heard this one before
Nothing’s changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
…Only
Slightly, only slightly less
Than I used to, my love”
