Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and Australia has seen no shortage of throwback tours over the past few years… None as big as So Pop, though. Canon EOS R REVIEW

By | February 5th, 2019|Categories: AV Hub|

Progressive Winner

Canon’s full-35mm mirrorless camera system employs a different design approach to Nikon’s, continuing the ongoing philosophical individuality of the two great rivals.

OUR FULL REVIEW IS BELOW, BUT FOR SPECS AND MORE, CLICK THE IMAGE RIGHT TO SEE THE ORIGINAL PAGES FROM PROPHOTO MAGAZINE AS PDFs. >>>

If you’re old enough to remember when autofocusing in SLRs was finally perfected, Canon and Nikon did things very differently. Nikon opted for body-based AF motors, Canon put them in the lenses which, of course, necessitated a new lens mount.… Read the full article

ZMF Headphones Aeolus Review

While the names for ZMF Headphones may get harder and harder to pronounce, its hard to deny that the bespoke manufacturer isn’t heading in the right direction. Founder Zach Mehrbach has two new headphones up to bat, the Verite ($2.5k) and the Aeolus ($1.2k). Both new cans follow much of the build and design signature of ZMF growing family of options, but each offer a different approach to high fidelity sound recreation. We slice and dice them both in our review here, and even rounded them out with the ZMF Pendant headphone amplifier.… Read the full article

Xbox One S Anthem bundle is the cheapest (and worst) way to play the game

By | February 5th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Microsoft has just unveiled the Xbox One S Anthem bundle that pairs Microsoft’s entry-level 1TB console with the game, a controller and one-month trials to EA Access, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold.

Unfortunately, it’s also the worst way to play the game.

Surround Sound: High Tech Meets the Beast Within Us

By | February 5th, 2019|Categories: Stereophile|

It’s a tense moment during a suspense thriller. A cannibalistic serial killer has escaped from a maximum-security detention unit and eluded capture for long enough to work up a healthy appetite. Two small children are playing hide-and-seek in an overgrown lot behind their home.

They have forgotten mother’s admonition to stay indoors, but we haven’t. One is hiding in a dense shrub, holding his breath in case the other is nearby. It’s dead—quiet except for some distant crows. Off-screen somewhere, and very near, a twig snaps, and we jump out of our seat.… Read the full article
