Sonus Faber Minima Amator II

Two-way designs in the bookshelf form factor can be magical in the right space. It takes a special skill set to deliver optimal near field or low-level listening for an office space while still maintaining some of that angelic high-end sparkle. Android Auto to merge with Google Assistant

Google is overhauling the Android experience behind the wheel, building driving-friendly features directly into the talkative Google Assistant rather than relying on the standalone Android Auto smartphone app.

In addition to the new look (see above), the tech giant is extending Android Auto compatibility to more car infotainment systems, via both wired and wireless smartphone connections, as well ramping up its Android Automotive OS program which runs a full version of Google’s mobile operating system on the car itself.… Read the full article

Audio Rambligs – Our Journey Ends with the Montrose Turntable from Fern & Roby

By | May 9th, 2019|Categories: Positive Feedback|Tags: , |

Same cartridge, but way different. Really tracked the LPs, but never felt we were getting it all. Was good and served us well enough.… Read the full article

Microsoft HoloLens 2 needs to get into living rooms sooner rather than later

By | May 9th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Watching someone use Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 while holding a conversation with you is almost as good of a demonstration as using it yourself. It’s a glimpse at the wild future of computing in store for us – all of us – mere years from now.

While watching Greg Sullivan, director of communications for Microsoft’s HoloLens division, swipe at, pinch and tap invisible objects in the demo room – all the while answering my endless questions about how the device works – I’m in awe of the dexterity with which he does it all.… Read the full article

By | May 9th, 2019|Categories: Part-Time Audiofile|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

dCS has a track record of continuing to invest in their products for years after they initially launch.  They have quoted statistics stating that they only use around 60-70% of the capacity of a device at launch, giving them 10 years of headroom to innovate.  This creates an experience where your device may sound the worst the day you bought it, as future updates refine performance and add capabilities.  We’ve come to love their hardware and delicious analog sound, but haven’t always been the biggest fans of their iOS only control software across the Vivaldi 2.0, Vivaldi One, Rossini, Bartók, and Network Bridge.   … Read the full article
