Why Estonia pioneered digital identity

By | September 3rd, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Estonia topped a poll of the most digitally advanced nations this year, according to research conducted by global community network InterNations. They praised Estonia for offering expats and digital nomads the ability to live a more connected life, and hence a better work-life balance.

Comparatively, the UK did not make it into the top 10, despite the fact that UK tech firms have received record-breaking investment over the last year, according to Tech Nation. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is looking up at Estonia, a small  country of just 1.3 million people, to provide digital solutions.… Read the full article

PureVPN backs up no log claim with independent audit

By | September 3rd, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Audits are becoming a trend in the VPN industry as providers look to legitimize their claims and PureVPN is the latest company to undergo an independent audit.

PureVPN is committed to the online privacy and security of its users and as part of that commitment, the company hired the California-based Certified Information Systems Auditor Altius IT to perform a security audit of both its systems and its no-log policy.

Last year, the VPN provider revised its privacy policy to become a zero-log VPN company and it now reads:

“We DO NOT keep any record of your browsing activities, connection logs, records of the VPN IPs assigned to you, your original IPs, your connection time, the history of your browsing, the sites you visited, your outgoing traffic, the content or data you accessed, or the DNS queries generated by you.”

By | September 3rd, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

The security firm Eclypsium found the vulnerabilities and reported them to Supermicro and the company has since issued a patch to fix the issue. However, if left unpatched, the vulnerabilities could be exploited to allow an attacker to connect to a server and virtually mount any USB device over the internet.… Read the full article
