The Lindemann Limetree Network Bridge

By | November 21st, 2019|Categories: Positive Feedback|Tags: , |

Guest review by Mattias Jung of HiFi Statement.

Lindemann Limetree Network Bridge

In the past few years I had lost track of the Lindemann company and their audio products. This was despite the fact that I had only the finest memories of the products from Bavaria since the early days, and whenever I passed by a Lindemann demonstration at some trade show, I was greatly impressed. But somehow, we never got together.

One reason for my distance may have been their price policy at that time, and the bulky devices which, admittedly, earned the highest accolades both nationally and internationally, but were a little out of my financial reach.… Read the full article

Obama: Why we need to save the Internet now

By | November 21st, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Former US President Barack Obama has urged the technology industry to do more to combat the spread of misinformation and harmful content online.

Speaking at the Dreamforce 2019 event in San Francisco, the 44th President of the United States reflected on the potential damage being done by a lack of control over what is published online.

And he hinted that some of the blame may lie at the feet of the companies responsible for introducing new technologies, which whilst bringing new innovation to the world, can also drive people apart.… Read the full article

Russia bans sale of gadgets without Russian-made software

By | November 21st, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Russia has passed a new law which bans the sale of certain devices unless they come pre-installed with Russian software.

The law is expected to go into effect in July 2020 and it covers smartphones, computers and smart televisions. Supporters of the legislation argue that its aim is to help promote Russian technology while also making it easier for Russian consumers to use the devices they purchase.

However, there are also growing concerns that Russia could use the law for increased surveillance of its populace and that it might lead device manufacturers to no longer sell their products in the country.… Read the full article

Jerry Harvey Audio Factory Tour

The humidity in Florida is no joke. Stepping off the plane from Los Angeles (where single-digit dryness keeps ash both on your body and your house’s roof from recent wildfires) the 70 per cent plus humid alternative makes anything above 80 degrees feel like a sauna. The hardcore locals will tell you its no big deal to wear jeans, but the feel of clingy fabric makes any option other than shorts a non-starter in this reviewers’ humble opinion.

All things being equal, the Uber to JH Audio’s headquarters located in downtown Orlando wasn’t so bad.… Read the full article

2020 Camera Magazine Imaging Awards – Zoom Lens

By | November 21st, 2019|Categories: AV Hub|

The annual Camera Magazine Imaging Awards recognise excellence in the design and execution of imaging products. This year there are ten categories and to be eligible, products had to go on sale around Australia from 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2019. Given how many new zoom lenses we’ve seen over the last 12 months, picking a winner here was a challenge, but one ticked all the boxes.

Zoom Lens Winner: Sigma 14-24mm f2.8 DG DN Art

Arguably one of the biggest assets of the L Mount Alliance has to be Sigma’s membership which, pretty well immediately, has given the owners of Leica SL and Panasonic Lumix S cameras access to the multi award-winning Art line of premium lenses.… Read the full article
