Samsung Galaxy S10e release date, price, news and leaks

By | February 14th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is set to launch on February 20 alongside its more powerful – and more expensive – flagship siblings, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus.

Update: We may now know the Samsung Galaxy S10e release date, after Samsung posted up a pre-order page on its US website with a March 8 delivery date.

However, the Galaxy S10e may be the most interesting of the three new Samsung phones, as it has been a number of years since the South Korean firm has produced a more affordable version of its top-end device.… Read the full article

By | February 11th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Samsung's foldable phone will be shown off on February 20 after the South Korean firm posted a teasing video which pretty much confirms it, on Twitter.

The clip, which lasts 15 seconds, features the words "the future unfolds" and the date "02.20.19" which, for those of you who have been living under a rock recently is the Samsung Galaxy S10 launch date.

There's also Korean text which wraps around an invisible block, hinting at a curved, foldable display on the the yet un-named Samsung foldable phone.… Read the full article

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active leak hints at small screen with no rotating bezel

By | February 11th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active may pack a smaller display and miss out on the rotating bezel which has been a key feature on Samsung's previous smartwatches.

This latest Galaxy Watch Active leak comes via SamMobile, which claims the wearable will have a 1.1-inch display – which is notably smaller than the 1.3-inch screen on the Samsung Galaxy Watch and the 1.2-inch display on the Active's predecessor, the Gear Sport.

With a smaller display, it may be a little trickier to navigate around the Watch Active's interface, with your finger potentially blocking a lot of the screen from view.

You'd think then, this would be a perfect opportunity for Samsung's rotating ring bezel to shine.… Read the full article

Nokia 9 Pureview punch-hole camera leak is actually just fan art

By | January 28th, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Update: Earlier today we reported on images seemingly teasing HMD Global's MWC 2019 press conference, and while that's exactly what they did, they weren't produced by the Nokia phone manufacturer.

We contacted HMD Global about the images, and a spokesperson for the company confirmed to TechRadar that they are just fan art, rather than leaks.

It means that the 'punch-hole' camera design may not appear on the Nokia 9 Pureview after all, with previous leaks suggesting enough bezel above the display to house the selfie snapper and associated sensors.… Read the full article

The Xiaomi foldable phone concept looks incredible in new teaser video

By | January 23rd, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

We've just been given another look at the Xiaomi foldable phone, and this time it's a well lit shot of the firm's co-founder seemingly using the device to open apps and make video calls.

It looks to be the same device which was teased in a short video clip by @evleaks a few weeks ago, but this time we get a much better look at the concept foldable smartphone.

What gives this video credibility is the flexible phone is being used by Lin Bin, the co-founder of Xiaomi, and he shared it on his personal Weibo account where he said the "Xiaomi double folding mobile phone is coming."

Instead of having a central folding action, this device has two folding hinges, with the outer thirds of the large display folding behind the central portion of the screen.… Read the full article

A new test for smartphone selfie cameras will tell you which is best

By | January 22nd, 2019|Categories: TechRadar|

Ever wondered what the best smartphone selfie camera is? If you have, there's now an easier way to find out, as camera-analyst specialist DxOMark has just launched its selfie test protocol with the aim of ranking the front-facing snappers on smartphones.

DxOMark has been testing, scoring and ranking the rear cameras on our smartphones since 2012, but this is the first time it has turned its attention to the front cameras.

The DxOMark Selfie test takes into account the main use cases for the front-facing camera on a smartphone, which includes selfies, group shots and video chat.

It takes 1,500 stills and two hours of video from a range of scenes including portraits, cityscapes, landscape selfies, group selfies and video calls, using the default settings each time to provide consistency throughout the tests.… Read the full article
