Xiaomi reveals Redmi 7A ahead of the official launch on May 28

Xiaomi has revealed its upcoming budget phone, the Redmi 7A ahead of its official launch alongside the much awaited Redmi K20, on May 28. The 7A succeeds Redmi 6A which was launched in June 2018 and went on to become the bestselling phone across Xiaomi's catalog. Now, with the Redmi 7A, the company aims to disrupt the entry-level smartphone markets once again.

New Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay will be shown at E3 2019, but it won’t be playable

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most hotly anticipated upcoming games of the year (even though it probably won't be released in 2019), so we've been waiting with baited breath to see what developer CD Projekt Red plans on showing us at E3 2019.

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 won't be playable at E3 but we will get to see new gameplay footage.

Ofcom proposes further duct and pole access to boost 5G

Ofcom wants companies building fibre networks to support business broadband and mobile backhaul services to access Openreach’s networks of ducts and poles in a move that would support the rollout of 5G.

Consumer broadband providers can already use this infrastructure, which it is claimed will reduce the upfront cost of building full fibre networks by half. Indeed, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and CityFibre have made use of 12,000 telegraph poles and 2.5km of ducts to expand their reach.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is being turned into a movie

With Disney wrapping up the Skywalker saga with this Christmas's Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, where does the movie series set in a galaxy far, far away turn next for inspiration?

The answer, it now seems, is to the Star Wars computer games. According to a report from Buzzfeed News, a new movie based on Bioware's Knights of the Old Republic series is in the works.

Samsung may release a surprise new phone at the end of 2019

We thought Samsung's second half of 2019 consisted of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, repairing and releasing the Samsung Galaxy Fold, and finally making the Samsung Galaxy A80 available to the public, but it looks like the company may have an extra wildcard up its sleeves.

According to phone leaker @UniverseIce, who has a proven track record for accurate leaks, Samsung's got a handset release planned for late 2019 that isn't the Note 10 or Fold.

Dolby and Universal Music Group are releasing thousands of songs in Dolby Atmos

Dolby and Universal Music Group announced today that the pair will release ‘thousands of songs’ from the music label in the Dolby Atmos Music format. 

The new, remastered versions of these songs will include “a diverse list of artists across a wide range of genres, from hip-hop, pop, and rock through jazz and classical music”.
