By | November 23rd, 2016|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , |

I am really happy that I finally have a chance to review these speakers, as they represent one of products that marked my audiophile journey. I have heard them in lots of systems and on many occasions at jack-fi.robut now  I finally have more time to properly test them for a full blown review.

I have reviewed two of the smaller brothers of Coax 30.2, the Premium 3 and the Premium 5.2.

Who is Piega ?

PIEGA SA was founded in 1986 by Leo Greiner and Kurt Scheuch, an unlikely pair with completely different strengths.

After hearing and reviewing the Focal Diablo Utopia, I was quite curios to take the Electra series for a spin and here we are. After hearing a pair of Electra 1028BE, I couldn’t resist and bought them for myself.

I’ve had them for a few months already and I absolutely love them. This review will mainly be about Focal Electra 1028BE, but you can also find a small comparison to 1038be.

I’ve had many occasions to listen to Focal Speakers and I actually owned a pair of Aria 906 BookShelves for a while. I really liked them and I think they offer great performance for their price. You can read my full review here.

Now, with the courtesy of Jack-Fi, I’ve had the chance to audition and review another pair of bookshelves from Focal, but from the top of the line, the Focal Diablo Utopia.

By | April 22nd, 2015|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , |

I was really marked by the sound of Piega Premium 3 and you can read all about it right here. From that point on, I was dying to hear the upper model, the Premium 5.2, in my own house.

Luckily, Jack-Fi was kind  enough to lend me a pair for extensive listening.

I have already written an introduction on Piega and what they do in the Premium 3 review.

By | April 22nd, 2015|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , , |

Indiana Line is an Italian company that really caught my attention with their Nota 250 bookshelves, which I found to sound way beyond their price.

Considering that Nota is one of their entry level series, I was really curios from that moment on to listen to more of their products. Recently, I’ve got the chance to borrow their top dac/stereo amplifier: Puro 800.

Introduction & Specs

The unit is nicely build and has a simple but pleasant design and is also well finished.… Read the full article

Focal Aria 906 Speakers – Review

By | April 14th, 2015|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , |

I’ve been enjoying these speakers for quite a while now, as I owned them for a few months already.  They are actually my first speakers and I’ve been waiting to get into this game for  some time, but my headphone system always got the best of my wallet.

Getting a small window from my headphone system with which I am quite pleased at the moment, I had the chance of getting the Focal Aria 906 after they impressed me in the showroom at that price range.… Read the full article

Piega Premium 3 Speakers – Review

By | March 11th, 2015|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , |

I’ve been meaning to write a review about Piega for a while now. During the last 2 years I had the chance to listen to some of their speakers and every time I’ve been struck by their wonderful sound. Actually, one of the best sound experience I have ever lived was with Piega Coax 120.2.

By | August 25th, 2014|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , , , , |

Not so long ago, while checking my headmania facebook account, I noticed a new message from a guy Razvan. I was surprised to see he was a Romanian entrepreneur that wanted  to enter the speaker manufacturing business.

He told me that he already has a model which he thinks is ready to enter the market and he asked me if I would listen to them and if they were worthy for a review. The name of the fresh Romanian company is Pinna and I hope you’ll be hearing a lot about it.… Read the full article

If you’ve been reading my reviews you might have heard of Jack-fi / AudioConcept I’ve been talking a lot about them because I love the store and the guys working there.

After I found them, my weekends have never been the same again.  It’s actually a funny story.

Indiana Line Nota 250, Nota 550 – Review – More than Meets the Wallet

By | October 24th, 2013|Categories: Speakers - Headmania|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

Hey guys,

I remember how when I was a kid, I craved for a speaker system like Logitech Z-5500 and for it’s huge but bloated and uncontrolled bass quantity. Today I couldn’t listen to them as they don’t have a balanced sound at all in my opinion.

However, until now, I did’t find a budget  speaker system that could suit my needs.

Well, I think I hit the jackpot with the new Indiana Line Nota series.

Indiana Line has been founded in 1977 and since then has been working on providing good sound accompanied by appealing designs and at budget prices.… Read the full article
