Naim Audio has released its Uniti Nova, a streaming amplifier that is one of four models in its new Uniti Series.

The new Naim Uniti Nova is proof that an all-in-one player can deliver audiophile quality,’ said Chris Murphy, of N. A. Distributors, which distributes Naim in Australia. ‘Whichever source you choose, your music will be transformed into a stunning sonic experience, because the Nova has been configured to deliver the very best solution for audiophiles in a single-box, compact enclosure. All the available space has been used to provide 80-watts per channel of Class A/B amplification capable of driving the most demanding loudspeakers—detail and depth you’ll hear in every note, riff and chorus.

The Uniti Nova natively supports Google Cast and Bluetooth (aptX HD) to allow you to stream music to it from any smartphone or tablet, and also AirPlay, so you can stream music from any iDevice, iTunes and Apple Music. Tidal and Spotify are also integrated, along with the ability to play Internet radio, plus it has UPnP so you can connect to a computer or to network-attached storage. You can also play music via USB-connected storage or from an SD-card. For AV applications the Uniti Nova has an HDMI ARC connector. ‘The Uniti has a completely new, extremely powerful and versatile streaming board that’s much more powerful than its predecessor, has masses of memory, will adapt to new technology effortlessly and seamlessly integrates with other network-connected Naim systems, including the Mu-so wireless music system,’ said Murphy.

The Uniti Nova has two analogue inputs, so you can connect a terrestrial AM/FM tuner, plus SPDIF inputs, so you can connect a CD or SACD player with a digital output. Digital file formats supported include WAV, FLAC, DSD, Apple Lossless, AIFF, AAC, Windows Media-formatted files, Ogg Vorbis and MP3. An optional DAB module is available for listening to terrestrial digital radio.

The front panel of the Uniti Nova has a 127mm colour LCD display that can show album artwork and content as well as music metadata, and system status. Front panel buttons and a top-mounted control enable a direct method of controlling the unit. You can also use the supplied bi-directional remote to control it, or in conjunction with the Naim App, your smartphone. Available now, the Naim Uniti Nova retails for $7,250.
