Master & Dynamic MH40 Over-Ear Headphones: 5th Anniversary New Wireless Model
Five years ago, at the New York Audio Show, I came across a new Manhattan-based headphone Company, Master & Dynamic, debuting their first headphones. The MH40, at $399; was an over-the ear closed model. I was impressed, and planned on trying to get a review sample at some point soon after.
Coincidently, the next day I went back to the show with my then 3-year old daughter and started by having lunch in the hotel restaurant. Bose 700 NC Headphones
Bose claims that its new 700 series wireless noise cancelling headphones represent the biggest leap forward in NC headphones since the iconic QuietComfort, which were likely the world’s most popular noise-cancelling headphones for in-flight use. [Click image to enlarge]
‘The new Bose 700s have a revolutionary new voice interface that redefines mobile communication the way Bose noise cancellation redefined mobile audio,’ says Brian Maguire of Bose. ‘New technology inside the 700s isolates a user’s voice from unwanted sound, allowing Bose 700 owners to do something that’s never previously been possible: Surrounded by noise from competing conversations, rush-hour traffic and loud subway platforms, they can share their quiet—and not the noise around them—for crystal-clear calls to home and work, and gain unprecedented accuracy from virtual personal assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant.… Read the full article
Best on-ear headphones
In the world of headphones, on-ear headphones (also called supra-aural headphones) are the middle child between bulky over-ear headphones and diminutive in-ear earphones. For most folks, they're just right.
Their name comes from the fact that their cushions sit on, rather than over, your ears. This means they're more compact and can travel with you without taking up a ton of room in your bag. Conversely, they're bigger and more comfortable to wear for long periods than in-ear headphones.
The reason you'd pick this form factor over the other two, is that you're a traveler, a commuter or a home listener who needs a bit of noise cancelation without the bulk of over-ears.… Read the full article
Best over-ear headphones
If you value good quality sound and best-in-class performance when it comes to listening to music, then nothing out there beats the full immersion you'll get from a pair of solid over-ear headphones.
It's a fact: in terms of soundstage, sound quality and comfort during extended listening sessions, no other form factor can compete with them.
Plus, if keeping your ears healthy long into your twilight years is just as important to you, they also tend to be better for your ear health overall because you don't need to amp up the volume to get a good level of audio performance and noise-cancellation.… Read the full article
