Questyle has released a new DAC/Headphone Amplifier/Preamplifier that it says is the only desktop system in the world designed to drive all types of IEMs and full-size headphones

The new CMA-400i has four digital inputs (two coaxial, one USB, one optical) and an SPDIF output. It has two line-level outputs on the rear panel, one balanced (via XLR), the other single-ended (via RCA). The internal current mode amplifier can be switched for two levels of gain (low and standard) via switches on the rear panel.

The front panel has three headphone outputs, to cover all the usual connector types, plus a rotary encoder-type volume control. The model shown at CES was a working prototype, so final features have yet to be finalised, and price and availability won’t be announced until later this year. ‘It’s not 100 per cent finished yet’, admitted a company spokesman, ‘but we’re aiming to have it finished in the first quarter.
