After knocking out a breathtaking stint splitting riffs all through Europe, Sydney post-rockers Sleepmakeswaves will bring 2017 to an end with five intimate showcases of slick, slow-burning guitars across Australia.

The tour will roll through Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney at the start of December, with the band taking to stages a lot smaller than we’ve seen them surge to in recent months.

“This band started in small clubs around Australia, and it’s in rooms these size where we honed our live performances,” says guitarist Otto Wicks-Green. “The intimacy, the intensity, the heat. A visceral and immediate live show is heart and soul of this band, so we were very specific in selecting each of these rooms for this tour.”

Joining the band for all five dates will be US post-metallers Rosetta, who are set to hit Australian stages for the first time since a headline tour in 2012.

“We’re stoked to be bringing out one of the most powerful live acts we’ve seen on a tour that is more scaled-down and intimate,” Wicks-Green says. “Rosetta bring a relentless atmospheric catharsis to their shows, and really fit their description ‘metal for astronauts’. On top of all that, they’re our old friends from tours in 2012 and we can’t wait to see their faces again. These will be special, crushing, intimate performances, so don’t sleep on tickets.”

Sleepmakeswaves released their fourth studio album, Made Of Breath Only, in February via Birds Robe Records.
