There are a lot of audio shows. As the owner of a high-end record label and the author of Music and Audio: A User Guide to Better Sound, I’m obligated to attend most of them. I have been a regular attendee at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, AXPONA, the Capitol Audio Fest, TAVES, the California Audio Show, The New York Audio Show, the Salon Audio, the Los Angeles Audio Show, and T.H.E. Show in Newport Beach, which is happening at the end of this week! As many readers know, I even ventured to Munich recently to participate in the High End Show for the first time.
Trade shows provide an opportunity to meet attendees, share information, answer questions, and demonstrate your wares. It can be grueling and tiresome at times but I do enjoy sharing my expertise and experience. I particularly enjoyed giving demonstrations in a state-of-the-art ballroom filled with the best equipment. The many years that I’ve partnered with Oppo, JVC, Benchmark, DH Labs, Dolby, Bryston, B&W, Piega, Emotiva, Revel, and others were very rewarding. There’s nothing like playing a great track in immersive 5.1 surround sound for a group of uninitiated listeners. I got the same thrill when attendees sat down in front of the YARRA 3DX sound bar and heard binaural audio without headphones. Seeing a broad smile come across people’s faces when a new sound experience happens is very rewarding.
T.H.E. Show happens next weekend at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum (7905 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA 92618) from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday the show closes at 5 pm. My booth number is A2 in the Main Marketplace. Since I don’t have to fly to this show, I’ll be bringing the entire catalog of AIX Records and plenty of books. I’ll also have lots of the latest AIX Records sampler, which has 72 tracks on it. The 2017 AIX Records sampler is free with any purchase BTW. I hope to see some of your at the show. Come by with your book and I’ll be happy to sign it.
The RealHD-Audio YouTube Channel is in the planning stages! Yes, you heard it hear first. I’ve noticed that other bloggers have take to YT, so I thought I would give it a shot. I’m working on setting up the equipment and exploring the logistics. So stay tuned, you’ll be able to see me on the small screen very soon. If you’ve got questions or topics that you would like covered, please do not hesitate to contact me. I’ll send out a notice when the first one is posted. Thanks.
