From icon to EIKON. Gayle Sanders is well-known to hi-fi industry enthusiasts as the former owner of Martin Logan. He sold the company in 2005 before taking an extended break from loudspeaker design.

Thirteen years later Sanders is back with a new company and a new (old) message: the room can limit the performance of any loudspeaker, no matter how luxurious, and attractive room treatments can be costly. Active loudspeakers with DSP crossover to the rescue!

AXPONA 2018: Eikon Audio – Gayle Sanders returns…

AXPONA 2018 marks the return of Gayle Sanders with the launch of EIKON Audio. Sanders co-founded Martin Logan in 1982, where he stayed for nearly three decades only to sell the company in 2005.  After about four years, Sanders recognized he was missing the industry and got the itch to return as he hit the audio show circuit and prepped for re-entry.

Gayle Sanders Eikon readies high-end active loudspeaker system

Gayle Sanders, co-founder of electrostatic loudspeaker legends Martin Logan, has reportedly emerged from pseudo-retirement with a new brand bag – Gayle Sanders Eikon – and a new high-end active audio system: the Image1 loudspeakers and outboard Eikontrol box.

The gloss black-finished Image1 are floorstanders with two opposing 8″ bass drivers, a 5″ midrange and an AMT “wave guided” tweeter. The cabinets were reportedly designed using a proprietary constrained-layer system. Going beyond the press release, each loudspeaker houses

ZMF Headphones – Atticus and Eikon

ZMF’s Zack Mehrbach isn’t just another film major turned t50rp modder, he’s breaking into fresh territory with his headphone company and has a new pair of original creations built from the ground up. The new duo is called Atticus and Eikon which will set you back $999 and $1,299 respectively.

Each headphone utilizes a closed, vented design constructed from solid wood. In the case of Atticus, the driver is a TPE (thermo-plastic-elastomer) material, while the Eikon is bio-cellulose. From the company website:
