Benchmark HPA-4 – Headphone Amplifier/Pre – Review

By | July 7th, 2019|Categories: Amplifier - Headmania|Tags: , , , , , |

It’s been a while since I managed to get some time to write on HeadMania, as it gets harder and harder to find time between work and family these days. It’s also been a while since I have been this excited about an audio product.

As I have mentioned before, HeadMania is part of my audiophile hobby. I don’t get money out of it and it actually costs me to keep it alive. So, my reviews contain my honest impressions as I don’t have any interest other than sharing my experience.… Read the full article

Publisher’s note: Every product comes with an Owner’s Manuals to familiarize the customer with its operations. These dcouments are often written in a dry style and to the point. A Head Turner Indeed

by Venoth Nair

Most audiophiles who are confined to small living spaces like apartments or small homes (or just a room for that matter) usually resort to a headphone-based system to fulfil their audiophile cravings. Of course, a pair of headphones may not be a purist Hi-Fi choice in many ardent audiophile’s eyes but there is no ignoring the limitation in today’s world as well as the growing competence of headphones when it comes to conveyance of great sound.… Read the full article

PS Audio Sprout100 integrated amplifier Review

By | June 15th, 2018|Categories: Dagogo|Tags: , , , , , , , , , |

If PS Audio’s Sprout100 has all the answers, you can just imagine the questions.

I cannot tell you the number of times aspiring audiophiles and existing ones who share my penchant for travel ask me online and in person to make recommendations for them. And, what they have all in common is their particular criteria that it be something they:

  1. Can be proud of around their friends and audiophiles (I have to chuckle that the two seem to be mutually exclusive)
  2. Will not break the bank
  3. Can make their office/secondary solution
  4. Will travel well nationally and internationally

The Sprout100 ticks all the boxes and then some.

Unintended condescension aside, I realize that high-end headphones remain something of a niche within a niche – and a lot of people just don’t quite “get it”.

Admittedly, I do know a few people who legitimately dislike the presentation headphones offer, and I can totally respect that perspective.… Read the full article
