by Rupert Brun | Norwegian public broadcaster NRK and Fraunhofer IIS have successfully conducted the first end-to-end real-time streaming trial in the Nordic region of Next Generation Audio (NGA) with interactive features of MPEG-H Audio. Representatives from Norwegian broadcasters, technology companies and other invited experts had the opportunity to enjoy the 2018 Football World Cup matches from Russia using interactive audio, in the NRK premises in Oslo, Norway. Not new news: Electrocompaniet’s ECI 6DX

It’s not new but it’s new to me after iconic Norwegian hi-fi manufacturer tagged yours truly in an Instagram post today about their ECI 6DX: a single box of electronics that plays elegantly to this website’s editorial lean toward super-integrated amplifiers where amplifier, DAC and network streamer come together under one roof to dispense with hi-fi rack and a hot mess of interconnects and power cables.

Hit the north! A visit to Hegel’s headquarters

Hegel’s main thrust is integrated amplifiers. On their website we count five, each offering in-built UPnP/Airplay streaming and D/A conversion: H90 (US$2000), Rost (US$3000), H160 (US$3500), H190 (US$4000) and H360 (US$6000). Pricing isn’t astronomical and the casework isn’t fancy schmancy.… Read the full article
