Revival of Classé Audio

Remember Classé Audio? It sure was a classy product which sadly disappeared from the scene soon after it was bought by EVA Automation in a package deal which included Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) in May 2016.

 

EVA Automation continued to make B&W products, but Classé Audio died a natural death and in July 2016, Classé’s factory in Montreal, Canada, was closed and all its workers, including President Dave Nauber, were rendered jobless.

 

However, yesterday at the CES in Las Vegas, Sound United LLC, the parent company to Denon, Marantz, Polk Audio, Definitive Technology, Polk BOOM, HEOS, and Boston Acoustics, announced that it has acquired Classé Audio.… Read the full article

Denon, Marantz and Boston Acoustics purchased by Sound United, owners of Polk Audio

Big news on the M&A front as Sound United, the parent company that owns Polk Audio and Definitive Technology has announced that they are acquiring the D+M Group, the owners of Denon, Marantz, and Boston Acoustics.

This is rather incredible news. Denon is the number one manufacturer of high-end a/v electronics — heck, they made the first several a/v receivers I’ve ever owned. At this moment, I’m staring at my latest a/v receiver, which just happens to be a Marantz.… Read the full article
