By | October 9th, 2018|Categories: Audiohead|Tags: , , , , , , |

Hot on the heels of the biocellulose-driver Auteur comes a two new cans from Chicago-based ZMF headphones. Borrowing some of the same circular hard wood look as that headphone, the new Verite and Aeolus made a big splash at Rocky Mountain Audiofest in Denver this year.

According to the specs from the show handout the upcoming Verite boasts the fastest response and the lowest distortion for any ZMF headphone. These heightened figures are no doubt subsidized by a new beryllium coating on the custom driver, a material fast becoming a favorite of many high end of headphones.… Read the full article

ZMF and Abyss Get Frisky With Two New Headphones – RMAF 2017

By | October 14th, 2017|Categories: Audiohead|Tags: , , , , , , , , |

The original Abyss headphone by JPS Labs ($4.5k) has been a bookend of the high-end headphone consortium for a few years now. Priced at the top of the planar magnetic game, the single headphone from the New York-based company was a bit unwieldy if not still an interesting prospect for those in the $4k+ market. At RMAF the company unveiled a new, more compact offering for a slight discount in cost. The Diana will debut for $3k and cuts the weight down to 33o grams but still retains some high end specs with a sensitivity of 91dB, so don’t expect a fully-endorsed portable product from JPS just yet.… Read the full article
