BusiSoft AV has been appointed the official distributor for Fostex’s range of consumer headphones, headphone amplifiers and DACs, for both Australia and New Zealand.

Founded in 1973, Fostex builds a wide range of products that span the gamut of consumer audio, professional audio and audiophile-grade hi-end audio, as well as loudspeaker drivers for OEM and DIY use. ‘All Fostex headphones use the company’s unique Regular Phase (RP) technology,’ said George Poutakidis of BusiSoft. ‘So they’re able to provide crystal clear sound quality and a wide dynamic range. No matter what your needs may be, Fostex will have you covered from entry-level headphones to the sophisticated TH-900 high-end audiophile-grade headphones.’

Fostex range of desktop and portable amplifiers and DACs includes the entry level HP-A3 with USB-powered DAC/Amp, all the way up to the more HP-A8C desktop DAC/Amp [pictured above and below this story]. Fostex’s top-line unit, it has Asahi Kasei’s AK4399 D/A converter, which complies with USB Audio Class 2.0 up to 32/192kHz and has an asynchronous mode enabled through the use of a temperature compensated crystal oscillator clocking circuit. Users are also able to select between a conventional sharp roll-off digital filter and a minimum delay filter, depending on their personal sonic preferences and the music being played. ‘By teaming up with BusiSoft AV, Fostex aims to bring their quality products to audio enthusiasts at an affordable price, and with full local support,’ Poutakidis told Australian Hi-Fi Magazine. ‘Fostex and Busisoft AV are committed to efficient customer service in the Australian and New Zealand markets and will therefore be stocking a generous amount of all products and parts.’

Although BusiSoft AV will be responsible for distributing Fostex’s range of consumer headphones, headphone amplifiers and DACs in Australia and New Zealand, Fostex’s professional audio products will be distributed by Synchronised Technologies.
