Shure Now Offers Cable Updates For Its Classic IEMs – NAMM 2018

By | February 14th, 2018|Categories: Audiohead|Tags: , , , , , |

In case you were wondering – no, that’s not Sean Sullivan’s hair adorning his corporate shirt. Sure, sure, its Shure at NAMM but those lovely strands are actually a well thought out combination of metal, plastic and IEM love. For any current Shure fan (535 anyone?), their long history with the tiny ear speaker has always been terminated with a standard 3.5mm headphone connection. Lucky for most, recent models have been equipped with a standard MMCX removable jack capping the other end.… Read the full article

Beyerdynamic’s New $99 Headphone And The FOX – NAMM 2018

Beyerdynamic was on full display mode at both CES and NAMM this year, but we saved our coverage for NAMM with a little more wiggle room, time, and mental space left over for the maker of some of our favorite headphones. The big news this year? A one-two punch for the podcasters and mobile producers, but the ripple effect for budget audiophiles is one that will not be overlooked! We are talking of course, about the new $99 DT240 PRO and the FOX USB Mic ($149).… Read the full article

While we may be pushing the timeline around for daily readers of the site, the Audeze announcement that came out of CES this year was still bustling around the scene by the time we made it to the musician-friendly show NAMM. It was at this Anaheim show where we finally met up with representatives from the company and got the usual download from the OC startup known for producing some serious planar magnetic tech.

With the formal introduction and PR release landing a few weeks before, the news of a new addition to the iSine family came as a little bit of a surprise.… Read the full article

64 Audio Updates the Line and Unveils a Hybrid Named N8t – NAMM 2018

Its been quite a while since we’ve caught up with 64 Audio. The company has undergone some changes since it first opened its doors (initially named 1964Ears) but founder and CTO Vitaliy Belonozhko is still at the helm of the WA-based IEM company. Our initial review of their first 6 driver model shot up to 71k views and became our #3 review video of all time, if that’s any indicator of the appetite for custom ever-increasing-driver IEMs at the time.

Both 64 Audio and the IEM market as a whole are a bit more established now.… Read the full article
