I’m a huge fan of the LS3/5a…are you? If so, you probably know all about Falcon Acoustics, the only manufacturer licensed by the BBC who is continuing to produce the original 15 ohm LS3/5a design in 2018. RMAF 2018: Seeing Stars with Manger, MoFi

I always love discovering new gear that is musical.  One of the new to me products presented itself in the MoFi Distribution room.  Norbert Schmied and Jonathan Derda outdid themselves with a beautiful sounding pair of Manger S1 Active Loudspeakers ($24,995) paired with a debuting Primare Pre35 Prisma ($4,995) Primare R32 phono stage.  On analog duty was a Dr. Feickert Volare turntable with Origin Live Silver tonearm ($3,495), a new price point for excellent Feickert sound.  Cartridge was the My Sonic Lab Eminent EX MC cartridge ($3,995) and a Little Fwend Automatic Tonearm Lifter High ($249).  … Read the full article

Scandinavia’s most underrated hifi manufacturer? The case for Sweden’s Primare is strong. Perhaps it’s their products’ understated looks that have kept the brand flying beneath this commentator’s radar until now…

Prisma is the company’s smartphone controlled, network audio platform, one that carries support for Bluetooth, Apple Airplay, Spotify Connect and GoogleCast, and is included in all three products introduced at Munich High-End 2017:

1) The i35 Prisma integrated amplifier (€4500) carries forward the development of Primare’s 30 Series integrated amplifiers and is, according to company representative Terry Madalen, the first to use Primare’s UFPD 2 power system – “a radical reworking” of all-analogue Class-D technology – to net 150wpc into 8 Ohms.… Read the full article
